Hey!
First of all, thanks for visiting my blog (I truly appreciate it!). You're obviously here to learn more about me, so here I go.
There
are so many words that can describe me: student, mother, wife, writer,
optimist, short, dedicated, and stubborn to name just a few. So what
else do you want to know about me?
As my little "About
Me" section says, I love writing. And I do. I have written since a young
age (think of a little kid in kindergarten sitting and writing a story
about her new dog, that was me). I still love writing. Every once in a
while I go into a writing sink. It takes all of my time and energy. My
husband and daughter sometimes are forgotten in place of my, "I'll just
be a bit longer. This is a really cool part."
Fortunately
my husband understands this. Once he sent me an email, that I kept,
which said, "Writing is a solitary occupation. Family, friends, and
society are the natural enemy of a writer. He must be alone,
uninterrupted, and slightly savage if he is to sustain and complete an
undertaking." (Laurence Clark Powell) All of which is true.
I've
been desperate to find a sounding board for my writings since my mom
passed away. I wrote an entire book and read it all to her. Then, after
she passed away, I cut the book from 75k words to 13k and decided to
make what was supposed to be three books, one. (That book is actually this one, Erill.) Since then I've struggled
with writing, rarely going back to that story (even though a psychic
said it would sell well, lol). I've moved on, written other stories,
edited ones I've written, but I don't honestly know if what I've written
is good or not.
So, I'm leaving it to you, my mighty
sounding board. Tell me what is horrible. Tell me what is great. Let me
know if I should keep going or scrap it. But if you'd really like to
know more about me, read what I write. My writings are reflections on my
own life and my attempts to understand it.
Have a Great Day,
Jesse
